the super nazty portal of jonas roque
Later this night, Qtube will feature Facebuko. I used to think that I would be interviewed in TV for I have proved or disproved P=NP, or have developed a security algorithm essential for web applications. Or worst, for being the programmer of the latest I Love You virus. But no… I’m going to be exposed on TV because of a viral site. Wehehe…
10:15 PM, Q Channel 11. What we’re going to see is my best effort. LOLZ. There’s a skit that took 5 takes. Wahaha. Ang bano ko lang. Here’s a short list of scenes that we won’t see later.
#3 There’s a shot where I acted that I’m writing a post to my site. While the camera isn’t filming my laptop screen, I’m actually typing “Shet. Parang najejebs ako.” Super kabado amf.
#2 I should have introduced Facebuko by mentioning that it already received 982,000 page hits, x comments, y fans, z posts, etc. Syempre sinabi ko na lang 1 Million page hits. Not because I’m so proud to broadcast the figure (which is the truth by the way) but that 1 Million would only take 3 syllables compared to 982,000’s. Buyoy kasi atoh.
#1 The crew has to occupy the entire second floor of the coffee shop because of the set up of lights and camera plus the consideration of the actions that’s going to take place. The barista looks like she’s having a period when she attended to our requests. Afterwards, she went back to her counter at the first floor and remarked “Bakit? Sino ba yung iinterviewihin???” Wahahaha… Nahiya naman ako. Dapat pala naging artista ako. Wahahaha.
Basta, riot ito mamaya. Bahala na si Batman.

Bahay ni Kuya will open its door once again for the newest housemates of the third season on Sunday, October 4. Seven months ago before this Double Up came out, I lined up for the audition (super-related post: World Peace series). That time, it’s a choice between shifting career or finishing graduate studies. Direk Dyogi rejected me as a housemate (wahaha) while the Department of Computer Science accepted me as a full time graduate student.
Meanwhile, last week, I was interviewed by Qtube, a Q Channel 11 show that features the hippest online. Not because I’ve developed a web application from our university laboratories but that’s for my Facebuko site, for being a popular tambayan of Pinoys.
Popularity – I’ve dreamed of It inside the Big Brother’s house. I hoped for a fame that could influence a lot of Filipinos to do things for the country. I like to be an advocate heard more than to be an actor applauded.
And Facebuko has given me that chance. Yes, fame – but apart from it, a voice to a crowd. Few of its posts were relevant to social issues such as the upcoming 2010 elections. Someone has just interpreted my Info Ad Nakikita, a satirical ripoff of Hinahanap-hanap Kita to info commercials of presidentiables. We’re hoping that this gets to a larger audience. Also, recently, I’ve pushed the jokes aside and published a list of how to help Ondoy victims. Some readers reposted the list in their blogs or linked back to through their tweets. Facebuko has indeed have a reach and we use this to reach out in a way.
I’m experiencing something not as big as Big Brother but I’m already contended. Sabi nga nila, kung hindi uukol, hindi bubukol. Pero pwede rin pa lang bubuko.

An update to: Why Did I Unfollow Lola Techie?
Simply because she plurked my Facebuko.com. Hehehe. *hugs*
Here’s her plurk.
Then suddenly, Facebuko reached 23,318 pageloads at the end of the day because of her. The good thing here is that some plurkers who happens to be a tumblr-er already recognized that what they’ve been reblogging for weeks now came from Facebuko. Yay!
Mahal ko na talaga si Lola Techie regardless how many times her plurk will ding me.

This is madness! I am a victim (as an end user) of the cyber attack to Facebook. While other Facebook pages are now accessible, my Facebuko Fan page on Facebook is still denied of service.
Still clueless about Facebook (and even Twitter) being attacked, I reported the issue to Facebook support. And they replied that they are resolving the issue.

As for no-karma-being-maintained Twitter, good thing there’s Plurk!
Oh well, the randomness in life. I hate you, “Cyxymu“!

Woah! It’s already August! Time really flies fast when you’re really busy with things. I haven’t updated this blog for a while because I’ve been constantly working on Facebuko while it’s hot. And hey, I have fans (other than my friends!). Furthermore, last week was an exhausting development period for Triage. We have to present the functional version 2 to the National Telehealth team. Good thing, my academics are still kewl. No pressures so far.
To recap what happened to me in the last two weeks aside from the tweets posted after this, here’s a list of the highlights:
