  • Meet My New Classmates

It’s first day high! Pasukan na naman! I was able to feel the morning rush with the students as they flock to the University Belt. On Thursday, I’m going to attend my first class. It starts 6 pm that I need to rush from work. I’m excited than negative about it.

Actually, my post is about this notebook that I bought yesterday at SM Sta. Mesa. Theory of Computation and Advanced Operating Systems introduce and re-present bunches computer science terms. So better get ready. Furthermore, I need to list my daily food intake as instructed. I recently enrolled to a gym and my goal is to gain weight and muscle.

The notebook cover is titled ‘No I.D. No Entry.’ by Stradmore. It is a collage of ID cards of fictional student names enrolled to fictional Philippine universities. Here are my new classmates:

    • From Philippine School of Bulakbol and Awting, Sam Ting Wong
    • Hugo First of Far Employment University
    • Isaiah Prayer of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Makalangit
    • From Deftone School of Music, James Band
    • Luis Buiton of Arneo De Manila University
    • Hugh Mungus, a BS Nutrition student
    • Hope Leslie Ynlav
    • Mercedez Benzon
    • Will Yashadup of Ragnarok Training University
    • Ella Fant of Samsong University
    • Sue Permann
    • Joe Kerr
    • Bill Clint Ong of Tambayan Institute of the Philippines
    • From International Discipline Institure of Teaching (I.D.I.O.T.), Justin Case
    • Barbie Dahl
    • Magic Tiongson, a Physical Education student
    • Joe King of Shrek’s Beauty Institute
    • Xavier Breth
    • From La Consumisyon University, Jack N. Jill
    • Maricris Mass of Sunbucks Barista Company
    • Faye Kinnitt, BA Acting student, of Tech No Logic Institute
    • Dan Druff, BA Hair Styling
    • Jack Stone, BS Gaming
    • From College of Wizardry and Sorcery of Harry Potter Magic School, Ken Knott Sy
    • Anne Lee Mitex, Information Technology student of College of Text Messaging
    • Lucinda Hedd of University of the Ease
    • Maggie Zeen
    • Juan Toothree of Our Lady of Lourdes College
    • Tom Cruz of School of Hardcores
    • From Kikay Institute, Faye Slift
    • From Mental Block University, Watson Yurmind
    • Earl E. Byrd, Forestry student
    • From De For Sale University, Princess Cheung Go, a BS Zoology student
    • Henny Thots
    • Cora Nairy, Hotel & Restaurant Management student
    • Dale E. Bredd of University of Maynila
    • Candice B. Love
    • Anna Rexiya
    • Colin Sick, a Social Science student
    • Max E. Mize, BS Counter Terrorist of Counter Strike School of the Philippines
    • Meeshee Elliot, BS Nursing of A.W.A. Nursing Institute
    • Bill Ding, Mass Communication student, former Architecture
    • Mike Raffone, BS Videoke Engineering
    • From Battle Realms Academy, Neal Doune
    • and from Facial Foundation Academy, Rosie Cheeks.

    It’s Cool School!

I think everything was conceptualized by Carlo Andro Mabugay of University of Philippines – the only close-to-reality identity in the collage of colleges.

  • I forgot to bookmark what Jango had showed me before. It’s his friend’s Multiply album showcasing both funny shop names and misspelled signs captured on a camera. What I remembered is this particular beauty parlor. So I Google-d it as hard as I could but I can’t find that page. Luckily, this blog popped out and enumerated more.

Here are the top 10 most creative brand names of shops and restaurants in the Philippines according to my taste. Let’s shop and laugh until we drop.

    • 10. Res | Toe | Run – where you can choose a line of popular international brand names of shoes. They’re not edible though.
    • 09. There are two competing lugawans (or restaurants that specializes on rice porridge) located at Plaridel, Bulacan. Both of them have initials L.A. The restaurants are called Lugawan ni Abel and Lugawan ni Adan. According to the rural legends, the son came first before his dad. And that son tastes better than his dad. Wehehe. I never tried Lugawan ni Adan so I can’t compare the two. See #03 for similar themed brand names.
    • 08. Jaribi – Teriyaki Boy meets Jollibee. Pinoy fastfood with a taste of Japan.
    • 07. Summa Cun Laundry – A very intelligent idea. It’s a laundry shop located at UST area.
    • 06. and 05. I don’t know if this pair is another competing brands. Do they exist in the first place? Overload yourself with caffeine and order Venti-sized drinks at Cafe Fizzle and Cafe Findot. I’ll take a franchise of Cafe Fizzle if it really exists. Enjoy it while it’s hot!
    • 04. Petness First, which is a spin-off from the popular gym called Fitness First, may not be the first in the list but it’s the cutest. I’ve seen this one on ABS-CBN’s comedy show That’s My Doc wherein Bayani Agbayani with his gorilla pet partner owning the petness club.
    • 03. Lutong Bahay, a carinderia bukas sa mga Iskolar ng UP Diliman na gustong kumain, doesn’t make it to my list. However, it’s rival, Lutong Kapitbahay holds on to my list. ‘Yun bang hindi na nga pinag-isipan yung Lutong Bahay however the copycat pushes it well. Some time at my freshie years, my blockmates only had two choices, LB or LKB. LB serves delicious food than Kapitbahay’s but the latter’s airconditioned house makes the lunch delectable.
    • 02. Coatable Coats – I saw it on Ratified.org. The blog is not selling coats but if someone would only buy the name, the business will be a blast! Coat me on that!
    • 01. Cut ‘n Face – The one with the last recall! It’s the thing that I searched in Google and ended up with Lou’s list. Control+C and Control+V can never be this fun and funny. Swak talaga sa mga parlorista who offer hair and facial care services.

    Panalo!

    Updates:
I spotted these new brand names just recently -

    • Fae Fone – a booth for cellphone accessories
    • Inn Ka Here – for short time residence needs
    • Le-Sil Montessori School – san ka pa? Sounds like La Salle na, Montesorri pa!
    • Hurry Cutter – sensya, bumenta sa akin!
    • Pick-A-Chew – fishball-an… aliw
