Everything's In Flickr Pro… Almost

I received a Flickr Pro account as the prize for winning scalpod’s Double Secret Ambigram contest with my entry, Ateneo.

This entry happens to be the 2008th ambigram of the Flickr group of ambigram artists.

I used to have a second free Flickr account for my ambigrams. The first one is for my photos. And now that I have an unlimited space for both, I decided to upload my ambigrams and my photos to this Flickr gift of pro.

I’m hesitant first to upload my photos since it was only a gift given because of ambigrams and not awarded for my photos besides the fact that I’m already uploaded gigs of photos to my first account. But since all of the ambigram artists who are also Flickr pro have their “everything else” sets and collections, I followed the bandwagon. I think that’s just maximizing the resources.

And to avoid redundancy, I opt to upload only enhanced images of my very best and memorable photos. So this is my convention – Every photos taken will be uploaded to Multiply. Good and enhanced (crop operation) pictures go to Flickr Pro.

And yes, I’m busy uploading photos. I have 41 albums as of writing. As of now, out of 20 albums, I’ve uploaded 10 of them so far.

As for my ambigrams, Flickr is the best policy in terms of publicizing my artworks. The number of views in Flickr sets is greater than tokikot.jonas.ph since search engines point to Flickr site first.

Everything that I need is on Flickr Pro – stats like most viewed, most liked, sort features by year and by category, tags, comments and replace operation. Yet, I miss the blackness. Still the latter is only a want.

Time to time kindly check my Flickr account here for my ambigrams and my photos.

  • The emcees were already calling the crowd outside to come in. Watdaef. The security aint allow us to enter yet. I was the 13th guy in the male’s lane before Loverage 3 started to accept its visitors. But I was cool. Actually I was bored that I had to SMS my blockmates to ask their song request for my band will play front act. Feelingero! Hahaha. Tagal kasi nila dumating.

Sugarfree was the first OPM band to play. They were followed by bands that I am not familiar with. The crowd is still thin. The security is strict.

Then I saw Anj who answered my prayer and to whom I obtained my Alumni Pass. This was my 2nd year to cover the event which was copresented by UP Cursor, one of my orgs way back.

Penshoppe spot offered a toast to summer with pool of booze. A barkada of organizers who were also waiting for the primetime was kind to mingle. Kat, who resembles someone from my past, offered me a shot of vodka. 9pm and I took the second shot. There would be no fashion show to my dismay. I was starting to feel that it was not worth to break the curse.

Got 3 of these: Red, Orange and Green. Stoplight.

Itchyworms, Kjwan, Soapdish, Stonefree played. Hmm. The night was still young for me to react. I wanted to take pictures with them but the photographer me didn’t have an assistant. Ok. I’m not used to point and shoot me as the doer and the direct subject. Marc Abaya is cool with that.

    Marc making his own mark.

Then, I spotted Victor Basa and JC Tiuseco. And because the backstage was still not that populated, they can move freely and had accomodated their fans even those outside the perimeter.

Thanks to Kat and she offered to take the pictures of Victor, JC and me. Maybe since their group is into photography, they know the consequence of being the camera man.

My Physics blockmates were already around. It was only then I notice the queue circumferencing the Sunken Garden. Regardless, if they have their passes or they haven’t, the line is not moving. While we’re thinking of plan b, we strolled from BA to Educ and ate our kwek-kwek dinner.

Erika, wearing my alumni pass. Need more of that!

Upon deciding that they were to retreat, the jumping jologs started to attack. They were banging the improvised wall. The earlier frustrasted crowd now woah-ed and cheered the vandals as they were given free act, free show. Erika, Tons and Ainah were guessing how long these JJ’s would take before they could gatecrash. If JJ’s were smarter, they could’ve attacked by small clans leaving ungeared bouncers and security guard. It’s patintero game and some JJ’s managed to pass through the entrance. They were unstoppable.

My blockmates then went home while I decided to go back to backstage. The same group of organizers offered some shots of gin. No chaser. Quite tipsy then. I was not sure if Carlos, who was with his lady officemate, noticed that.

Loverage 3, UP Fair, 2009, UP Cursor, Penshoppe, fireworks

The countdown to Valentine’s day began. Fireworks, courtesy of Enchanted Kingdom, painted the sky. And rawr!!! Bamboo band rocked the show next. I was jumping. I was shouting. I was singing. I also saw Brent, a former HP colleague with his ‘C’amera to the capital C. I began to crave for an SLR for moving subjects like Bamboo. Ang likot mag-perform. Rocker talaga!

A USC person gave a spill in a piece of paper. It was written in Filipino and very UP-nized (wherein the action word is always at the end of the sentence). The only word that I understood from Bamboo is ’stone’. He translated it to English. Hahaha!

Loverage 3, UP Fair, 2009, UP Cursor, Penshoppe
Bamboo translated it to English. ‘Magtagalog ka kasi…’, Jologs replied.

It was only when no instruments were playing that I realized that JJ’s were still attacking. I learned that they got wilder as Bamboo sings. I didn’t notice. I was enjoying those moments.

Then the show was cancelled. It was not announced to the greater public since it would just agitate the jologs outside. Greyhoundz is supposedly the next performer. Another Jumping Jolog Catalyst.

And before the night really ended, I saw Yasmien Kurdi with her berks. I didn’t ask her for a picture because I can already sense that she’s half-willing.

I had to walk from Sunken Garden to Philcoa because the jeepneys arriving at the Grandstand were already loaded. Thankful that at least along University Avenue, a jeepney u-turned. It saved me some meters.

Nevertheless, I was still thankful for several reasons:

    • I am alive and everyone else after that event . I survived the jumping jologs. By the way, I was thinking of an application program at the entrance that would only allow UP students or a group accompanied by UP student. Asa!
    • My battery and memory card lasted long unlike last year. Perhaps, it’s because the line up this year was of lesser bands that I like. Though my quota of 200 pictures was reached. See the complete set at my Multiply account.
    • The event fell on a working holiday in Paranaque. It saved me from salary deductions for I still don’t have a vacation leave. Damn.
    • I didn’t bring non-UP friends to the fair. Kakahiya kasi yung jumping jologs. Buti na lang Ace and Kristine!
    • I didn’t put up a booth for my Tokikot Ambigrams.
    • I still managed to meet my former blockmates even though they weren’t able to get inside.
    • I was worried before that my brother wouldn’t come because he should take my pictures with the celebrities. But fortunately, lakas na lang ng pakiusap and stuff like that, I had pictures with Kjwan, Bamboo, Victor and JC. (Huhu… I missed Kitchie… Erika kasi eh. Lolz. Joke!)
    • Loverage 3, UP Fair, 2009, UP Cursor, Penshoppe, Kjwan, Bamboo

    • I met some acquaintances thus expanding my network of friends and possible supporters when I come to Kuya’s House. Planado?! Hahaha.
    • Iba talaga kapag nakapunta ka sa Fair!!! I love the feeling. I love the hangover.
Yun nga lang… at the end of the night… (early morning pala…) I realize that What hurts more than to be stoned from outside by jumping jologs is the feeling while everyone else’s counting down valentine’s day, you’re alone.

I was tagged by Erika with this meme. I feel that this is more fun than the 25 random things so I try it. Indeed!

  • My 25 @ 25

I can’t post this meme to Facebook for the site is blocked in the office network. So for the meantime, I’ll publish this 25 Random Things here. Most of the Nazty stuff here are unpublished, not yet blogged, and has never been told to most of my friends.

    1. I was in Grade 2 when my service forgot to pick me up after a half-school-day. So the next Milo and Ovaltine boy walked a distance similar to UP Academic Oval under the midnoon sun.

    2. I really want to join Pinoy Big Brother and to be among the Big Four. It’s not that I want to be an artista because I don’t have the looks of one and all that X-factor stuff in the first place. I just want to be a celebrity, an icon, a good cause endorser, a role model. I want to be complete. Lolz. Since the audition for the next season is over, I’m just preparing myself for the next one. Gym. Blogs. Network sites.

    3. If only I have the intestines to endure blood from accident cuts and wounds, then I would be a doctor. I can take watching slasher movies like Scream and Saw because my nerve cells know it’s fake. But when I see such things live in real life, I’m the next patient. I’m feeling what the victim is feeling. And that really hurts! My Pa once fell from a ladder and got cut on his head. Then, I look for Ma. ‘Si Pa, Si Pa’. Blag! I fell dizzy.

    4. A girl and I agreed that we can consider it as a relationship which happened when we’re Grade 6 until 1st year high. Haha. A decade after, we met again and I learned she’s a single mom. But some things are just too complicated to start with again. First love is the worst last song syndrome you’ll ever had. You can’t simply forget. ‘Magkahawak ang ating kamay at walang kamalay-malay…’ McDo!

    5. One of the legacies I left from my first employer is the scrapbook that reminds the legacies of those who are leaving the company and the barkada. When I left the company, I handicrafted my own scrapbook.

    6. My first cassette tapes that I bought were 98 Degrees and Rising and Talk on Corners of The Corrs. When audio cd’s and mp3’s are not yet hit, I used to compile popular songs in tapes.

    7. I visited Katipunan strip which is just located at the UP Diliman boundary wben I was in fourth year in college. Pathetic! And thankful to discover Cello’s doughnuts.

    8. My high school valedictory speech took 28 minutes just thanking everyone.

    9. I lost two of my Nokia phones out of negligence. While I ruined my Bosch cellphone during our CAT because I forgot to take it out from the bag while we’re crawling and rolling in a improvised terrain.

    10. I survived my Math 17 teacher who is a member of the dreaded Voltes V. I beg for a 0.25 higher grade on Math 53 so my weighted average for the entire semester won’t fell short from scholarship requirement. But eventually, I took revenge on my Math 54 because I received my 1.0 grade.

    11. I love videoke. My first time experience was singing with the Computer Science faculty where I earned my first 100 score from the song ‘Pakisabi Na Lang’. They challenged me to sing the same song again for they doubt the algorithm of the Magic Sing. And then I earned my second 100 score.

    12. I love movie watching with my barkada, with someone and sometimes alone. Yeah, alone. What the hell?! But if you’re watching a movie at your comfort and with your popcorn. That’s heaven. I think that’s why they come up with Platinum stuff.

    13. One time I was so damn frustrated and depressed, I walked around Paseo de Roxas and Ayala Avenue block, less-than-cursing. Then, I went to Greenbelt – to the Chapel. Then, I feel sorry for my less-than-cursing. And said to myself, I will be happy. And then, the rest is a happy history.

    14. I was a Best Man of a groom which a relative from my father’s side and who I haven’t known. It appeared that I outshined the groom because of the well-tailored barong that I borrowed from a groom of another wedding the family attended before.

    15. Aside from blogging, I am also writing story concepts, kinda rough drafts made for TV and movies. One of the reasons why #2 is important so I can penetrate the Pinoy entertainment industry. Though I like to play a role from my works, I would rather write a script or direct the movie or the TV series.

    16. I enjoy our sibling rivalry with my brother. If he claims he did some thing better, I’m proud that I’ve done it first. Computer Science. UP Diliman. Hewlett-Packard. Hehe. But good thing I have my ambigram ability. What can you say, my Peter Petrelli brother? Haha.

    17. I never won a campus wide student election slash popular contest. I’m not the popular kid and some folks have their own impressions. Though, I’m successful in class elections and alumni officer selections. I am the president of our high school alumni association, the block head of a freshie block and one of the representatives of our Computer Science batch. It means you only need to know me deeper and both of us gonna like each other.

    18. Psychology 101 is my favorite subject. It’s an elective and grateful that I’ve taken it. Because of it, I am able to understand the behavior of people – persons that I like and I didn’t.

    19. It was Physics long exam day when I was held up inside a Pantranco jeep going to UP. The thief took my wallet containing P200.00, ATM and ID’s. I explained to the instructor that I can’t present my ID because it’s also stolen. My friend and seatmate lent me P70.00 so I can travel back home to Bulacan.

    20. Physical checkup results show that my hearing is 100% ok even when I was a child, a maggot fell from the ceiling and dropped inside my ear. Ewe!

    21. I peed in my short when I was Grade 3 because I was about to leave the room when our teacher came. The class had to recite some prayers and ‘Good Morning Ma’m, Good Morning Classmates’ lines to start the class. ‘Eh ang tagal ninyo eh’, I said to my seatmate.

    22. I won P100 from a 4-digit Lotto draw. Beginner’s luck.

    23. I love to give names, awards, titles to my classmates and friends. During high school and HP days, I organized annual awards that honor favorite love teams, heartthrobs, look-a-likes, fashionistas and the like. While, they named me as ‘Mr. Fashionista’ and ‘Male Star of the Night’.

    24. I’m not a religion believer but I believe in God and in doing good. For me, religion is just an organization.

    25. It’s my birthday today and I’m 25.
