I forgot to bookmark what Jango had showed me before. It’s his friend’s Multiply album showcasing both funny shop names and misspelled signs captured on a camera. What I remembered is this particular beauty parlor. So I Google-d it as hard as I could but I can’t find that page. Luckily, this blog popped out and enumerated more.

Here are the top 10 most creative brand names of shops and restaurants in the Philippines according to my taste. Let’s shop and laugh until we drop.

  • 10. Res | Toe | Run – where you can choose a line of popular international brand names of shoes. They’re not edible though.
  • 09. There are two competing lugawans (or restaurants that specializes on rice porridge) located at Plaridel, Bulacan. Both of them have initials L.A. The restaurants are called Lugawan ni Abel and Lugawan ni Adan. According to the rural legends, the son came first before his dad. And that son tastes better than his dad. Wehehe. I never tried Lugawan ni Adan so I can’t compare the two. See #03 for similar themed brand names.
  • 08. Jaribi – Teriyaki Boy meets Jollibee. Pinoy fastfood with a taste of Japan.
  • 07. Summa Cun Laundry – A very intelligent idea. It’s a laundry shop located at UST area.
  • 06. and 05. I don’t know if this pair is another competing brands. Do they exist in the first place? Overload yourself with caffeine and order Venti-sized drinks at Cafe Fizzle and Cafe Findot. I’ll take a franchise of Cafe Fizzle if it really exists. Enjoy it while it’s hot!
  • 04. Petness First, which is a spin-off from the popular gym called Fitness First, may not be the first in the list but it’s the cutest. I’ve seen this one on ABS-CBN’s comedy show That’s My Doc wherein Bayani Agbayani with his gorilla pet partner owning the petness club.
  • 03. Lutong Bahay, a carinderia bukas sa mga Iskolar ng UP Diliman na gustong kumain, doesn’t make it to my list. However, it’s rival, Lutong Kapitbahay holds on to my list. ‘Yun bang hindi na nga pinag-isipan yung Lutong Bahay however the copycat pushes it well. Some time at my freshie years, my blockmates only had two choices, LB or LKB. LB serves delicious food than Kapitbahay’s but the latter’s airconditioned house makes the lunch delectable.
  • 02. Coatable Coats – I saw it on Ratified.org. The blog is not selling coats but if someone would only buy the name, the business will be a blast! Coat me on that!
  • 01. Cut ‘n Face – The one with the last recall! It’s the thing that I searched in Google and ended up with Lou’s list. Control+C and Control+V can never be this fun and funny. Swak talaga sa mga parlorista who offer hair and facial care services.

Panalo!
