Here’s another way of describing a good year, 2007 through megapixels.
27. Pinball
Of course, it’s not. It’s a top view from a ferris wheel of Global Fun Carnival grounds where bump car station and game kiosks are located. There’s nothing nostalgic reason behind or difficulty on taking this shot. It only shows how my camera was able to capture the beautiful effect of lights not seen while you’re frustratingly strolling on the carnival grounds.
26. Fly
At the first glance, it looks like JP is stepping up in the air to shoot that basketball. However, if you take a closer look, he’s doing that starting from a three-point rainbow. If you think more about it, no opponent is posting near him and he might really want to attempt to dunk from a far distance where no player has not tried before. Poor man on the blue, he might turn out to be JP’s stepping stone to fame.
25. Forbidden
Sometimes, you don’t need to see the whole picture to have clear thoughts. And I’m just a step forward on becoming the Philippine’s next top paparazzo. There’s a small area of megapixels that created several controversies on the original picture. It might not be as loud as John Estrada and Gretchen Baretto. Yet, it is still with forbidden flavor. Yes, I have blown it up unintenionally. But I cannot control what my lens can see. And someone has just commented on my Multiply where it all started – a girlfriend.
24. There
It’s Jeff birthday celebration at Krocodile Grill on Greenbelt after his Transformers barkada movie treat. We’re almost done dining but stories and jokes keep on flowing with San Mig Light and Strong Ice. I can’t remember what they are laughing about.
23. Here
And maybe it’s something about me because I’m not seen in the picture. I am of the photographer! This must be really a good joke. Laugh Here and Laugh There are laughters after laughter, a shot after shot. Because of this photo, you can check how they are laughing. Oh, different styles!
22. Jeepney
This is one of the few jeepney trips. I learned that there are only less than 10 trips per day, that transports people back and forth to Fort Magsaysay Military Training camp at Nueva Ecija. I haven’t seen an army of soldiers on the move but carabaos and ducks on the field – rice field to be exact. This is one of the jeepneys that you thought exaggeratedly shown on television and movie screens holding tons of vegetables, fruits and other goods for the folks in the rural village.
21. Lay-Up
It is another shot for a shot during a basketball game in the HP sportsfest. Thanks again for the Blue Devils for being an angel and act as support instead of a block to add a two-point basket for Gold Miners. If only ITO manage to snatch the championship title, definitely this Miner will be that year’s Most Valuable Player.
20. Islaw
What’s the chance of a photographer for his animal subject to face the camera and pose for some time? And I really think, his name is Islaw. He’s playing and posing on a ricefield and with an elementary school on the background. Is he really a he? I’m seeing some glands, actually? What do you think?
19. Bridges
There’s only one hanging bridge in the picture but the picture itself bridges my cousins and I who haven’t seen each other for a decade, I think. So it’s memorable to me and to my cousins as well. Despite their nervousness on the possibility that old bridge will collapse, they able to pose a smile.
18. Sandcastle
Yes, we’re still in the Philippines. Those amazing stone structures facing the vast sea stand on Crystal Cove of one of the islands near Boracay. It is where the wind is not whispering, it’s shouting with its strength. It is an effortless and simple landscape shot but the subject made itself larger than life.

17. Masquerade and 16. Waves
These are happy group pictures of my fellow OWWA scholars and my HP ERP colleagues. For every group picture session, the members will come out with a serious mode and a wacky shot. Indoor Masquerade shows what wacky is for the scholars during our Christmas party. Meanwhile, my officemates wave back goodbye to me before we sail on Boracay waves and island hope.
15. Llamppong
Indeed, Koreans are invading the Philippines! Jjamppong wouldn’t be that hit, right? Anyways, this picture is the most searched picture in my website. No wonder why. Thanks to the two ladies for additional traffic in the site. This picture is taken without their permission. They may or may not know I’m taking a shot on them. Or they just don’t know how to ask me to stop in English.
14. Fusion
I asked Myk and Kido to fuse like Gohan and Trunks, thus Mykido! Other friends who decided not to join us in Boracay accepted the fact that they missed a part of their life after seeing the fun we have in this picture.
13. Mabote
Beach na Beach for Beer na Beer, Galera Nights for San Mig Light, Ligo Tayo for Ligo Sardines are some of the spoof stuff (tongue twister!) you can check out in Barcode. Though, the items are not labeled together with a barcode like we see on supermarkets.
12. Bluegreen
Blue and green are colors that are gentle and refreshing to our eyes. The mountain on the foreground receives the warm rays of the sun. Meanwhile, mountains behind look cold. Indeed, nature has a way for me to have a cool optical illusion while tanning myself on this sunny afternoon.
11. Scream
We still know what we did last Christmas. We took a ride on the dangerous Ranger of Global Fun and ended up like ambigrams being turned upside down repeatedly. Jay tagged this picture as ‘The Evolution of A Screaming Man’. It is a good blocking of subjects when we were seated in a line and caged. We screamed because of somersaults in the air and how safety measures of the ride packed and fastened us. Good thing! I have a flat tummy.
10. Hmpf
Very genuine! Try to visualize the face of the comedians and comediennes of the TV show Bubble Gang after someone cracked a joke. Hey, is this Barbie Almabis guesting on Bubble Gang? Hehehe. Just like Jeff’s comment on this photo, OK lang cute ka naman eh. Wushu. Jeff talaga. Check out the entire picture to know the reason behind the face.
09. Tree
It’s nature-tripping at its finest caught in my camera. This reminds me of the burning bushes the Bible is telling about. There’s something about this tree that caught my attention. Perhaps, that’s why my father asked me to climb mountains earlier than I wanted. Moo-moo. Creepy.
08. Queue
And they need to form and to align themselves. Have they raised their arms forward and sidewards? Hehe. They are literally ERP Queue. I saw Myk’s desktop and he set this picture at the background. What adds beauty to the picture also is the vast blue blanket of Boracay waters. I did not have much time to dip into the sea but I enjoyed it on my memory stick.
07. Lucy
The last picture of 2007 is the first one for 2008. Only two sparkles left for me because I’m busy taking pictures of my parents and my siblings while they are enjoying the Roman candles and sparkles. When it’s time for me to light, I found it boring to hold and let it ran out. So instead, I grab my last sparkle and light it, try to capture its few shining moments. From the set of these shots, the one in the right came out the best.
06. Delight
Chips Delight! Chips Ahoy! I just won all these chips and a thousand bucks in an overnight poker tournament. It was beginner’s luck actually. Kaya babawi ako next time. Haha! This is the first experimental super macro shot from my Canon and it looks very good. Nice try!

05. Pray and 04. Play
And just when you thought I captured the most genuine facial expression, hear Kathrina’s praying for the something to happen. That was to stop Myk singing and bashing Boyz II Men’s On Bended Knees. But her answers have not been prayered, hehe, her prayers are not answered when the audience and the videoke applauded.
Meanwhile, Jeff was rocking and rolling. Or should I say, jumping! This was the only successful shot of catching the ERP P&G Band members, who had sung Happy Christmas (War is Over) on that night during our Christmas party, floating in the air. I don’t know how to perform continuous shot with flash on. May arthritis pa naman si Lolo Kido.

03. Sadako
She’s already out from the well! I think she’s using virgin coconut oil shampoo. Ang habang ng hair! I used to think she is not a white lady so I’m not afraid to take a shot. But it turned out to be one. Pass this photo around (and blog link me) or else in seven days… You know what happened at the Ring.

02. Kid
It was a small mango tree turned Christmas tree (notice the Christmas lights) standing with the height of three Jonas on our backyard. This kid, along with other playmates, climbed the said tree and picked my attention. He is makulit but his innocence was still seen here.
Her name is Bora. She’s with a sunset.
With yellow colors in the air and a sun set down to there.
Some would beach bumming and do sand castles
And while they tried to be a child, Jonas always take a shot.
Across a sandy floor, they walk from dusk till dawn
When night’s young and we’ll have each other
Who could ask for more?
At the Island (CO!), Island Boracay (Island Boracay)
The hottest spot north of Mindoro (here)
At the Island (CO!), Island Boracay (Island Boracay)
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Island… I fell in love.
- to the tune of Copa Cobana of Barry Manilow
I’m looking forward for a greater year of 2008!
