It seems some Wordpress-ers and Google Bloggers are not happy to share seats with Multiply and Friendster bloggers in the upcoming Trinoma Food Tour for 100 Bloggers. As I scrolled down the comment thread in Jehzeel Laurente’s blog, the former group are pressing charges that the latter group owns pseudo-blogs.
Quoting one of the affected bloggers, he says that account owners of Multiply and Friendster are camwhores and mp3 pirates and should not be considered as bloggers. As a defensive response of the other party, the food tour is open to all and they got a reservation earlier than others. It’s quite fun(ny) to watch them throwing snowballs on each other. Well well well. Look do we have here!
I own a Multiply account to augment my public exposure to the www. I have limited megabytes of space. Multiply is a free and unlimited (unconfirmed yet) storage of pictures caught in my lens. So much I appreciate Flickr’s RSS feature, yet I prefer Multiply album because it answers my capacity needs. There’s no need for me to select few-then-upload (because Multiply’s uploading method sucks too). I am a attention-getter but not a camwhore. I’m mostly behind my camera. There are albums where I’ve been seen at most once or twice. Thus, not all Multiply-ers are like that. It is an unfair comment to others as well. I personally believe one’s album says or blogs enough – more than thousands of words right? Heard of photoblogs? And yes, some folks just grab. Let’s consider these as their reviews or something to that effect. Perhaps they aren’t familiar with Facebook, a photos-of-me feature of Multiply.
As for the music piracy, I’m guilty of this because I also grab music files for my music player. Where would you get all free music to fill the gigabytes of your iPod? But to be a lesser evil, I don’t ‘multiply’ the sin by posting my playlist. Click and run!
All I can say to the other 99 bloggers… ‘Share a seat and win a friend!’ I’m excited about the food, with other Jonas’es (Jonas delos Reyes and Jonas Diego) and the tension between the two groups. January 9 is the day and I’m pretty sure there’ll be lots of blog posts and photos after.
